Rejecting prolonged negotiations as not being helpful, Araghchi however said, "we will not be entrapped by time, since we seek reaching a good agreement."
During an interview with IRIB on Saturday night in Vienna, Araghchi stressed that both sides are trying to reach the July 7 deadline, but Iran is not bound to the date, adding that Tehran will not accept a bad deal and is looking for an agreement that respects its red lines and the Iranian nation’s rights.
"We had not been so much forward in nuclear talks during the past as this stage is for entering writing the text of the final agreement," Araghchi said.
Pointing to Lausanne Understanding, he emphasized that there was no agreement in Lausanne, describing it as only a set of solutions to resolve the issues.
He added that the ongoing negotiations in Vienna is underway to reach a comprehensive agreement, which makes it more difficult to compromise on details. "We will have an agreement if our demands are fulfilled, otherwise we prefer to return home empty-handed," Araghchi added.
